Employment Details
The Caregiver will provide full-time, live-in support to an elderly (“client”) with medical and mobility challenges. Duties and responsibilities include:
Personal Care & Companionship
Provide daily companionship and emotional support.
Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and other personal care tasks.
Support the client with bedtime and morning routines.
Health & Safety Support
Remind and assist the client with prescribed medications.
Assist with mobility, including transfers, walking support, and fall prevention.
Assist in unexpected situations such as dizziness, disorientation, or nighttime confusion.
Monitor client’s well-being and promptly respond to health or safety needs.
Nutrition & Household Management
Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals tailored to the client’s needs.
Perform light housekeeping tasks (laundry, cleaning, tidying).
Purchase groceries, household items, and medical supplies as required.
Assist with overall home management to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
On-Call & Night Support
Be available to provide occasional support at night (bathroom assistance, reassurance, emergency response).
Adjust to the client’s unpredictable needs with flexibility and care.
· Occasional (and necessary) off-hours work occurring overnight and/or beyond the standard 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week will be compensated as paid overtime at the regular hourly rate.
Work Schedule
Work 8 hours per day, 5–6 days per week.
1–2 days off weekly, with compliance to Employment Standards regarding overtime pay (occasional off-work hours emergency) and rest periods.
Living Arrangements & Conditions
Reside in the employer’s home, with a private bedroom, den, and bathroom provided.
Meals, utilities, and safe accommodations included.
